Technology
- CEREC
CEREC allows Dr. Jackson to create porcelain inlays, onlays, and crowns accurately and quickly. Traditionally, temporary crowns are placed during one appointment and permanent crowns in a second appointment. Between the two appointments, temporary crowns can break or fall off, creating the need for a third visit – not to mention the hassle and irritation of an unprotected tooth. CEREC changes all of that, allowing dentists to prepare, create, and fit permanent crowns, inlays, and onlays in one appointment.
With digital photography, computer-aided design (CAD), and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), Dr. Jackson uses CEREC to create a digital model and mill a restoration in the office. CEREC Blocs, from which the crowns are milled, are strong, durable, and create natural-looking restorations. Dr. Jackson can bond the new crown onto the patient’s tooth, restoring the patient’s smile in just over an hour. Better still, multiple crowns can be placed in one day.
- Laser Dentistry
With our gentle, conservative dental laser, Dr. Jackson can fill
many cavities without administering anesthesia. The laser vaporizes cavities, eliminating the painful vibration and heat that causes discomfort when a
traditional dental drill is used. Dr. Jackson can also lengthen crowns,
perform biopsies for oral cancer, remove excessive gm tissue, and
perform frenectomies.
- Digital Radiographs
Digital radiographs take X-rays that are
quicker, safer, and more precise than traditional X-rays. They
require no film, emit 90-percent less radiation, and deliver
almost instant results on a convenient chair-side monitor.
You’ll enjoy seeing X-rays and learning where
your
dental problems lie and how
treatment can help.
